Shanghai’s third International Light Festival is under way after opening on 17 September. The opening ceremony took place in Huangpu on the lawn west of Shanghai Concert Hall. Xinhua published its report from the opening on 18 September.
Light installations across the city
The festival’s main venue is in Huangpu. Its programme also covers 16 additional venues, with organisers planning a total of 158 themed events.
Visitors were already exploring and photographing light installations at the main venue on the opening day, as documented by Xinhua’s correspondents.
