The VI World Nomad Games began in Bishkek on August 31. The international sporting and cultural project has returned to Kyrgyzstan, where it was created in 2012.
The start in Bishkek
The opening ceremony took place at Bishkek's new arena. The programme included a parade of delegations and a show devoted to the history, traditions, and cultural heritage of nomadic civilisations.
Delegations will transfer to Issyk-Kul on September 1. Traditional sports competitions will take place there from September 2 to 6, while the Games programme also includes cultural and scientific events.
Named Tickets
Because of enhanced security measures, tickets for the opening ceremony are issued to named individuals and are non-transferable. Admission requires proof of identity and a personal QR code; the age rating is 7+.
