A Kazakh cultural village featuring traditional and digital yurts was presented in Seoul. Akorda reported on the programme in Hangang Park on September 16.
The display included jewellery, national dress and felt products. A separate installation explored Zheti Kazyna, the seven treasures of Kazakh tradition. Visitors were also introduced to the dombra, dauylpaz and zhetigen.
The Birlik dance ensemble and the ballet company of Kazakhstan’s State Academic Korean Theatre performed a piece called Friendship. The programme also included an introduction to traditional archery.
A panoramic LED screen was installed inside the digital yurt. It showed videos about the history, culture and contemporary lives of ethnic Koreans in Kazakhstan, as well as the ties between the two peoples.
