At an online meeting in June, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan approved key documents for the regional One Health system. CAREC reported the decision on July 13.

Three Shared Documents

The Regional Coordination Council unanimously adopted rules governing its work, a regional action plan, and a communications plan. They are intended to provide a common foundation for interstate cooperation in responding to threats to human, animal, and environmental health.

The countries are also preparing their first joint exercises for responding to outbreaks of dangerous infections. Specialists will test protocols and interagency coordination under near-real conditions.

Digital Platform and Programme Through 2032

The regional One Health digital platform was scheduled to launch in late July as a single hub for documents, analytics, and best practices, but the available report did not confirm that the launch took place. A separate system of indicators was intended to track the implementation of initiatives at the national and regional levels.

The World Bank's broader $130 million One Health programme in Central Asia covers 2025 to 2032.
