Artisans from Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region brought handmade jewellery, ceramics and objects made from wood, leather and bone to Astana. The two-day Creative Aimaq fair took place at Qazaq Creative Hub.
Participants presented decorative arts, jewellery and metalwork. Regional fashion designers showed their collections, while artists from the region brought their works.
Visitors could explore the artisans’ work and take part in workshops. The programme also included theatre productions and a creative programme by the independent art space JAIYQ.CORP.
According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information, the fair attracted 10,000 visitors over two days. Participants from Atyrau region sold goods worth a total of 15 million tenge.
Creative Aimaq introduces audiences in the capital to artisans and local brands from different regions of Kazakhstan. West Kazakhstan region will be the next to present its work in Astana.
