Tamyr Central Asia Art Lab and the BulBul art residency have announced an open call for artists and cultural practitioners from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The programme will run from October 15 to 30, 2026.

One Participant from Each Country

The organisers will select three people: one each from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Adult practitioners from those three countries may apply, including artists, sculptors, photographers, curators, researchers, writers, poets, architects, illustrators, filmmakers, sound artists, and performers.

The organisers say they will give particular attention to experimental and interdisciplinary practices. Applications are open from August 17 to September 2.

A Residency in Besh-Kungei

BulBul operates in the village of Besh-Kungei near Bishkek and is affiliated with the Bishkek School of Contemporary Art. Kyrgyzstani artist Syinat Zholdosheva will curate the programme.
