Serbian singer Princ won the fifth episode of Silk Way Star’s second season, according to an announcement by the official CCTV Arts account on Weibo.
The episode focused on fresh interpretations of folk songs. Princ performed two pieces, with CCTV highlighting the combination of traditional rhythms and a contemporary stage presentation.
The Chinese broadcast aired on CCTV-3 and CCTV-15 on 11 October. The announced start time was 7:30 p.m. in Beijing, equivalent to 4:30 p.m. in Almaty.
The second season brings together singers from 12 countries. Jointly organised by China Media Group and the TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the competition takes place in Yiwu, China, with ten themed rounds.
Princ’s win is an episode victory. The season’s overall title is decided at the end of the competition.
