Kulans have been moved from Altyn-Emel National Park to the Ile-Balkhash State Nature Reserve and released into the wild, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

The relocation forms part of efforts to restore the population and expand its range. Following the release, specialists will continue to track the animals’ movements, health and adaptation to their new surroundings.

The announcement did not specify how many animals were moved or the exact date of the operation. Findings from monitoring their adaptation have not yet been presented.
